When launching LUNA I get "Unable to launch UA Connect." This occurred last week, started a ticket and read some of the articles they suggested, so I uninstalled and reinstalled UAD software late Friday. Luna started up fine, didn't do any work, quit the app and tried opening it up this morning and same issue "Unable to launch UA Connect". My auth is on my USB iLok for the USB and iCloud. I live pretty remote so internet is stable but weak. I just started having this issue. Mac OS Catalina 10.15.5, 27 inch iMac, 32 GB memory, 3.2 GHz Quad Core i5.

All good here and I checked there are no internal issues happening.
Have you rebooted etc?

This happened to me, too, the other day. Quit LUNA, launch UA Connect on its own and then, while UA Connect is open, launch LUNA after. It might take a few times to successfully open UA Connect, it took 2-3 tries, then it opened and then LUNA successfully launched after that. Hope this helps!

Just rebooted and still no UA Connect launch.
Tried launching UA Connect on its own per Mengelking but it would not open. Tried 3 times. This is the error I am getting from earlier today.

Get a ticket open, Support will likely want your logs.

Having the same issue unfortunately. It's now constantly the case on my M1 MacMini (reboot, retry, separate launch of UA Connect, etc. doesn't help), but yesterday could use it with my laptop without any issue.
Openned a ticket...

This happened to me, too the last few days… (M1 Pro, latest Luna, latest MacOS). Sometimes it works, sometimes not...

Is it possible to download previous versions of Luna somewhere? I'm thinking maybe using the pre-UA Connect version of Luna could allow me to use it at least while the issue is resolved.

Ok, seems I finally found a workaround! Hopefully this works for others too, so sharing here...
The issue seems to be with iLok License Manager. So these are the steps I followed:
- Run iLok License Manager (should be installed already)
- Select all cloud licenses and all local licenses and deactivate them (not sure if this step is required but I did it anyway)
- Download the iLok License Manager installer from here and use the uninstaller within to uninstall iLok
- Now reinstall iLok LM using the installer package
- Reactivate your cloud and local licenses (if you deactivated them)
- Run UA Connect and/or Luna and enjoy!
I also uninstalled and reinstalled UAD plugins a few times before that but ultimately these steps are what did the trick, so I suppose that isn't necessary.

When you say "did the trick", do you mean it got UAC/Luna working once, or that it never happened again? Just restarting the Mac gets me running but it keeps happening - not every time but...

Anyone experiencing these issues, please be sure to have tickets open with Support. They'll likely want you logs etc.
We want to fix these bugs, not promote/rely on workarounds.

For me it fully resolved the issue. Never again happened since.
That said, indeed we are hoping for a fix and therefore support tix should be filed. Workaround is intended as a temporary solution in the interim.

It’s kinda like when you said - re the lack of file management - “so long as there's a work around (which there is) it rightly slips down the list” - just with the roles reversed. I don’t have time for all of the Luna tickets I would have. I have 3 issues in with support now. If there’s a one-time permanent workaround here(more like a fix), I’ll do it and move on. Luna is brilliant. It’s also like a haunted house, at least for me.
And I don’t mean to slam you, Drew. You are a ton of help. (The lack of file management is bewildering, though, and the workaround is still problematic)

I don't feel slammed.
You're conflating two different uses of workarounds.
A bug with a workaround is not to be tolerated.
A missing feature with a workaround is what I am always referring to with LUNA.
Two completely different animals.

Well, I know which animal’s bite is worse for me.
Also, bugs happen. The lack of file management(!) is more a matter of planning.
It’s bugs biting me here and there vs. a dog I took in chewing my arm off. Ok, that’s a little strong
You clearly implied that it is to be tolerated. By whom I’m not sure, but I do know that users decide what they will tolerate and for how long.
Whether or not you contradicted yourself wasn’t my point, but at least to this UA customer, a missing function(feature?)sucking up my time vs. a bug doing it is not a meaningful distinction. Time is time so workaround is workaround.

I have constantly problems with Luna. Since V 1. Had to reinstall it few times. Now I can not start Luna because of UAC. Another time it cannot see my licenses. This is a disaster, poor and buggy app. Sounds great, but you can't rely on it.
